The CAST Logistics sea freight index provides unique insight into ocean freight costs. It weights the well-known SCFI index and the CCFI index and adds oil price developments and the EUR/USD exchange rate. This creates a careful weighting that not only reveals the past, but can also be used for calculation purposes and for contract negotiations with freight forwarders. Needless to say, CAST Logistics is working on several initiatives to further reduce ocean freight costs.
